Drywall, Fireplace & Exterior Rock

The rock work at the front of the house was completed and looks excellent!  The drywall progress was slow in the early part of the week however we got a push this weekend with two man crews working both Saturday and Sunday.  There is a clean-up crew at the house today and we are ready for the first coat of paint on Tuesday.
The fireplace was trimmed out with a 6 1/2" deep recess to hide the TV mounting hardware, the build-out also includes a mantle to hold the speaker bar.  To eliminate the potential interference of the fireplace cabinetry, half of the cold air return from the great room was redirected to the hallway.

Insulation & drywall

Inspections were completed for framing and insulation.  The drywall delivery was not completed until Thursday however the crew was working across the weekend and we expect the boarding to be completed on Monday, scrap-out and cleanup on Tuesday with muding to start on Wednesday.

Concrete

Time has been racing by so quickly and the job-site has been equally busy.  The lower patio and the stairs along the side of the house are now complete. All retaining walls are complete. The exposed aggregate driveway and front stairs are also complete.

Retaining walls & dropped ceilings

The retaining wall in nearing completion, the darker blocks were fresh from Vancouver and the lighter blocks wintered here in Kelowna.  The manufacturer and the distributor both noted this is common and they will be the same colour in 2-5 months as the concrete cures.
All of the ceiling drops are complete, rough-in is completed for plumbing, heating and electrical, siding will be completed Friday ready for inspections on Monday.

Exterior and Sub-trades

The slippery slope on the south side of the house is now fully stabilized allowing the crews to complete the siding on the south wall of the home.  Plumbing is roughed-in, heating is roughed-in, electrical will be roughed-in by Monday Feb 23 ceiling drops are 80% complete.  Insulation is expected to be complete by March 2 ready for drywall.  The fireplace is on site and will be installed this week.

Exterior and Sub-trades

Although it's been some time since our last post the crews have been busy.  Windows were installed in the second week of January, the Hardie siding is nearing completion, electrical, plumbing and heating will be completed on or about the 17 of February.
